The team won 1-0 away at New Spires. When George’s football team, JDS Sporting were asking around for a new away kit sponsor, Richard didn't take much persuading. JDS Sporting are in Division 4 of the Leamington & District Sunday League, with home games at the Alvis Sports & Social Club in Coventry. The squad has around 30 members and the JDS is only in its third season as a club. This season started with five wins on the bounce: 4-1, 10-2, 7-1, 4-1 and 1-0. The 7-1 win was a final. Under the floodlights on the 24th September, JDS beat Midland Rovers to lift the Maurice Billington Cup, the first trophy in the club's history. Dan Dyer helped himself to a hat-trick and Steve Thomas scored twice, while man of the match Dan Cooper added a rare goal from centre half. The kit's debut went ahead without him, as he was away on holiday. They won regardless! George said: *"I'm immensely proud to be able to say our company is on the front of the JDS Sporting away shirt. We like to get our name out in the community, and being able to help a team I'm part of makes it even better."* Richard said: *"When the club went looking for a kit sponsor it was an easy yes. We've supported grassroots football in Coventry for a long time, and this time one of our own is playing. Judging by the results so far, they'll do the shirt justice."* Football keeps finding its way into this company. Richard spent the best part of ten years coaching George's junior side, Finham Park Rangers, and a few years ago we [sponsored a new home kit for Croft Juniors Under-13s](https://ps4b.co.uk/news/coventry-based-it-firm-ps4b-sponsors-sunday-league-junior-football-club). This is the first time the logo has gone on a shirt one of us actually wears. ![IMG\_0406](https://ps4b.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/IMG_0406.jpeg?width=700&height=362&name=IMG_0406.jpeg) *JDS Sporting Squad* You can follow the season on Instagram at [@jds\_sportingfc](https://www.instagram.com/jds_sportingfc/). The aim this year, George tells us, is the league title. On current form, who'd argue. ### Enjoyed this article? We publish new articles like this regularly.
