£500 of food for the Halo Centre

Richard, Kerry and George took £500 worth of food and household goods over to the Halo Centre in Binley

The Halo Centre is the warehouse everything passes through before it gets to anyone. Coventry Foodbank runs 15 centres around the city, and the Halo is where donations are sorted and sent back out to whichever one needs them.

What we took over was mostly cupboard basics. Pasta, tuna, coffee, biscuits. Nothing exciting, but it is the sort of thing that leaves the warehouse about as fast as it arrives. The foodbank supports around 500 families across Coventry in a typical week.

We have been looking after IT for businesses in Coventry and Warwickshire since 2005, and the families the foodbank helps live on the same streets as the people we work with. That is most of the reasoning behind it.

If your business is thinking about doing something similar, the Halo Centre takes drop-offs on Progress Way in Binley, Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm. They will collect as well if you give them enough notice. Details are on the Coventry Foodbank site.
